San
Luis Obispo County Parks also owns or operates eleven neighborhood
and community parks. These residential green spaces offer
an open invitation to stop and relax during your visit to
the Central Coast. Children's play areas, picnic sites, and
open turf areas are located here, sure, but our community
parks contain something truly special including fresh water
streams, swimming pools, tennis courts,
shoreline accesses, and other amenities for fun and relaxation.
We invite you to explore the "greener side" of our
local townships through their County managed community parks.
Our Community Parks are open from sunrise to sunset (day
use only). They include:
C.W.Clarke Park in the small north county community
of Shandon on Highway 41;
Cuesta Park in the eastern part of San Luis Obispo
town;
Hardie Park in the beach town of Cayucos off scenic
California Highway 1,

Santa Margarita Community Park in Santa Margarita;
Lampton Cliffs and Shamel Park in Cambria;
Los Osos Community Park on the south side of Morro
Bay in Los Osos;
Nipomo Community Park - Offering a welcome stretch
of open parkland for the rapidly expanding communities of
Nipomo and Santa Maria, this park is developing quickly as
well. Well managed baseball and softball fields, basketball
courts, children's play areas, and day use picnic sites, will
soon be joined to an expanded area of equestrian trails, bike
paths, and locally maintained native plant and community gardens.
Oceano Community Park next to Oceano
Memorial Campground in Oceano;
Templeton Community Park located in the heart of Templeton;
and San Miguel Park located just north of the Rios
Caledonia Adobe in San Miguel.

All our Community Parks have a very distinctive, individual
character and offer excellent daytime family event venues
and lots of recreational opportunities. If you have questions or are interested in making a day use area reservation, please contact us at (805)
781-5930, "option 4" or e-mail us at adiaz@co.slo.ca.us.
