WE ARE ACTIVELY RECRUITING FOR THE FOLLOWING POSITIONSAquatics Coordinator

LIFEGUARDS

LIFEGUARD I: $9.77 - $11.76
LIFEGUARD II: $11.78 - $14.16
This is a seasonal / part-time position and you must be available to work
May 24 - September 1, 2014

Based on qualifications all Lifeguards are assigned to work at the following locations:
POOLS: Hardie Pool (Cayucos), Shamel Pool (Cambria), Santa Margarita Lake Pool, Templeton Pool , San Miguel Pool and Shandon Pool
BEACHES: Lopez Lake Recreation Area and Cayucos Beach

Daily responsibilities include:  supervision of visitor use at a County aquatic facility or designated swim area,enforcement of County policies and regulations; preventative life guarding; preventing accidents; effecting rescues; providing basic first aid; collecting user fees; distribution of information; monitoring of pool chemistry, aquatic site maintenance and other related activities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • POOL LIFEGUARD (Lifeguard I / II) - Lifeguarding, Title22 - Emergency Responder and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. In addition, Head Lifeguards and Swim Instructors are required to have a current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certificate.
  • LOPEZ LAKE LIFEGUARD (Lifeguard II) - Lifeguarding, Title22 - Emergency Responder, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Waterfront Lifeguarding. In addition, those applicants wanting to work at Cayucos Beach must have a completed the U.S.L.A. Academy either locally or thru another U.S.L.A. certified agency.
  • CAYUCOS BEACH LIFEGUARDS (Lifeguard II) - Lifeguarding, Title22 - Emergency Responder and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. In addition, you must have completed or are currently enrolled in a United States Lifesaving Association (U.S.L.A.) Academy.

SEASONAL PARK AIDES & STUDENT INTERNS

PARK AIDE I
(Seasonal / Part-time)
$9.52 - $11.46 / hr

Perform a variety of seasonal work in the collection and record keeping of fees associated with county parks, beaches or recreational areas; and do other related work as required. Graduation from high school or a GED equivalent. In addition, one year experience which involved general cashier duties and extensive public contact.
May be required to work weekends, holidays and irregular hours.

PARK AIDE II
(Seasonal / Part-time)
$11.17 - $13.47 / hr


Performs a wide variety of duties in the administration, operation and maintenance of county parks, beaches, open space, recreational and landscaped areas, buildings and other assigned facilities; and does other related work as required. Minimum 6 months of experience in general landscape; or completion of two years of college at an accredited institution with a major in recreation, park management, natural resource management, horticulture, forestry, or related field.
May be required to work weekends, holidays and irregular hours.

STUDENT INTERN
(Seasonal / Part-time)
$9.03 - $10.87

We are currently looking for someone to help our reservation desk at the San Luis Obispo County Parks Administrative Office. You will be the first point of contact for customers looking to make a reservation at a day use park facility or the San Luis Obispo Veterans Memorial Building. Fee collection, reporting, data entry and other duties as assigned.
