"What's Cooking at the Garden -- Calling All Chocoholics!"
Make a date with Chef Brenda Hock at the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden’s Oak Glen Pavilion on Thursday, February 9 from 1 pm to 3pm as we immerse ourselves in delicious Valentines treats including chocolate soup, chocolate whipped cream meringue baskets, triple chocolate chip espresso cookies, and "have it your way chocolate truffles". It's a promise that these will become mainstays in your recipe repertoire. Classes are $25 for Garden members and $30 for non-members; bring three friends and your admission is half-off! And of course, come prepared to sample lots of chocolate! Limited to 30 participants, register early.

"Garden Fresh Family Cooking" at the SLO Botanical Garden. The Botanical Garden is partnering with Cal Poly health and nutrition advocates in a family-style cooking class from 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. This is a great class for children and guardians to discover the joy of cooking fresh-from-the-garden meals, and features local organic produce. Class is age appropriate for 2-6 grade kids and guardians of all ages. Class is $25 for child and guardian, additional $5 per family member. Garden Members receive $5 discount. RSVP ahead of time, space is limited.

Outdoor Discover Festival at Lopez Lake Recreaiton Area
11:00am - 5:00pm come and discover the great outdoors with San Luis Obispo County Parks. Activities include Nature Boat Tours, Eco-Fair with exhibits and demonstrations, Arts & Craft activities and vendors. Zongo All Stars, Cuesta Ridge and Morning Rise Sound will provide us with music entertainment during the day. If you like hiking, biking, kayaking and more...this is the place to be! This is a great family event and everyone is welcome.
